I am totally new on windows ..No more knowledge about it.. just bought ..new samsung Netbook..i am facing strange problem from 2 days .. after boot whenever open any icon on desktop... it always open the first icon .. means whenever i open recycle bin it always opens My computer which is at top first number !..like whenever i open D" drive it opens first drive ..that is C' drive ... It happens with all folders .. whenever i open any file in any folder it open first number file in that folder .. it stays for 5 to 10 minits .. after that laptop become normal

that is real odd I don't know what would cause that but here's a bump so hopefully someone who can sees this.

Yes very strange. I have never heard of such a thing but I will be thinking on the problem.

Hmmm, that is a strange one. When you hover over one of the icons, does that icon get highlighted or does the "first" one get highlighted? Are you using a mouse or the trackpad built in to the netbook? I'm thinking it may be a problem with mouse pointer calibration. I don't know of any way to calibrate the mouse so it may be a hardware problem. If you are using the built in trackpad, I would try plugging in a USB mouse to see if that works better.

The fact that it starts working correctly after 5-10 minutes may indicate that a component needs to warm up before it works correctly.

Do you have problems selecting things from various menus?

m using inbuilt trackpad on netbook . yes after single click on any icon on desktop the first icon get Highlighted... there is no problem in taskbar and in start window ...

i tried external mouse ..problem is still same .. i think there is no problem in trackpad.. Does it possible to reset full Operating system ??
