Accelerate boot process

Only I use my laptop and have set no password. But several icons appear on starting computer that I have to eliminate by hitting "enter key" before system will boot.
How can I get the system to completely boot without further intervention when I turn it on?

I'm not sure what icons you are seeing. You can go to control panel, add/remove user accounts and disable the 'guest' account and you can click start, type power options and select change the power options listing, go to advanced power options and set it to hot require a password on wake up and see if that helps.
