Access backup data on external harddrive

Hello folks,
My windows 7 (home premium 32bit) doesnt start anymore, my system recovery data is on external hard drive. Any idea how to access this backup?

Hi Fletcher4243, welcome to the Forum.

What program did you use to create the back up image?.

Have you diagnosed why your computer wont start?. What happens when you attempt to start it, could you supply details?.

Error in the OS-loader. Startup Repair doesnt work, it takes usuaully up to an hour.
If i start windows, it loads to the windows symbol with the black blackground.
Used the backup system in windows itself.

When you created your back up image did you make a System Recovery Disc. This Recovery Disc enables you to boot the computer in order to find your backed up image.

I don't use the Windows back up system, but I think you should be able to get access to your backed up image drive using the Windows Installation Disc, but I am not sure about that. Perhaps someone with experience of Windows Back Up System will come in.

OP might have to find a computer with the same OS and create that Rescue DVD or USB boot.
