access to BIOS through Windows?

Oh you didn't specify. Sometimes that is an option in the bios settings.

See comment #14. In a PC, you NEED BIOS access to set up automatic restart.

Pertaining the bios settings once they are set up you shouldn't have to touch them again. Make that a part of your set up and deployment process and you should be good however you will always need a hands and eyes team in an enterprise environment especially if there is an outage or hardware problems. There isn't any other way around it.

Well, I guess that's a "make sure you do it right the first time" suggestion. Agreed. Remote PCs in a scientific and reconnaissance environment often don't have the luxury of a hands- and eyes- team that an enterprise environment might, though.

I'm not understanding why one would want to access the bios through Windows.

Dramx please enlighten me.

If one could reach the bios using Windows 7 you still would have to reboot before the changes would take effect.

Exactly.
Perhaps while we're at it we could control the physical universe by the power of our minds alone!
Just a thought.
