Hi, I recently got a virus. I was trying to delete it, and my friend told me that when she deleted all the processes currently running in the task manager, it typically worked. Now the toolbar on the bottom won't show up; the desktop is blank; pretty much just a background. I tried restarting it, it didn't work. I have a Windows 7 laptop. I just need to know how to get back these processes and get my desktop back to normal...any help appreciated. :S Thanks!

Ctrl-ALt-Del and select "task manager". Click "file" and then "new task". Type in "explorer.exe" without the quotes. That should get your desktop back. From there, do a system restore to a point before you deleted your running tasks. Run a virus scan with MSC and MalwareBytes Anti Malware.

Stopping a running task is in no way going to prevent that task from running again after a reboot. Something else is going on here.
