I have bought a new Samsung laptop.

Specs:

Model - NP550P5C-S05IN
Memory - 8 GB
Hard disk - 1 TB SATA II
Graphics - 2 GB NVIDIA GeForce

I was trying to install Windows 8 enterprise. My lap was already running some basic version of Windows 8. I booted from usb and without reading the comment below, I accidentally formatted my C drive. Now when I try to install Windows, it says, "can't install as the partition is GPT", something like that. Now I'm unable to even boot from my usb. Also in boot priority in bios settings, it's not even showing the default hard drive. I also formatted all the system reserved partitions like the OEM partition. I don't know what to do :cry::cry::cry:

Someone please help me do something soon ... Please :cry::cry::cry:

Solved :)

Guys, I solved the problem :D

Actually I read in a thread that Windows 7 x64 installs on GPT and tried that. But that too failed

Though I happened to find something strange :)

I was able to open command prompt via Windows 7 installation wizard :geek:

Converted GPT to MBR guys :)

Now I'm installing my Windows 8 Enterprise on my lap :)

Thanks guys :)

May I ask what you do with this laptop to be needing Enterprise.

There's no difference between Win8 which comes preinstalled and the Enterprise version except that Enterprise use Volume Licensing only intended for organizations and has its activation administered by IT depts. So if you don't qualify I would reinstall the licensed version you own on the PC to avoid piracy charges.

@ theog

Thank you so much :) Your post helped me a lot :)

@Layback Bear

Actually, the problem is, the stock OS slows down the system very much. I could uninstall unwanted apps, yet, I would always like to use Enterprise as it has a lot of liquidity :) I'm not gonna use all the features of Enterprise but I like it :)

@ gregrocker

You don't have Bitlocker in stock OS. You may suggest me softwares like Truecrypt but believe me, anything that comes with Windows works great. There are lots of differences between stock OS and Windows Enterprise, though it may depend on manufacturer. However, I don't have to worry about piracy charges :) I own a Windows Enterprise :)

Anyways, thanks for your response guys :)

Well if you use BitLocker you do need a higher version, and ,no, I won't suggest 3rd party when Win7 has a feature as it's always superior IMHO. :geek:

There should be no performance difference otherwise between versions as they are the same OS but with a few features unlocked that are otherwise hidden, and Enterprise uses a different activation scheme.

Enjoy Win7. :)
