Accidently defraged ssd and freespace

As the title says I made a defrag schedule for my main HDD for games and movies and also set my 32gb ssd to defrag. Also freespace defrag and cut it off half way though please tell me did it do any damage to my ssd. As i'v head you don't defrag them.

I would not worry about the defrag. The reason(s) defrag is not recommended for SSD's is due to two factors, as far as I know.
1. Read speeds are so fast it doesn't matter if the files are fragmented and
2. Defragging increases the number of write cycles, and it is the write cycles that wear out SSD's

One round of defragging should not be a problem...

Edit: You made me curious. I checked my drive's Host Writes, it was 296.50 GB. I then "analyzed" my SSD using Win 7's defrag tool and it said my drive was 11% fragmented. Being curious and the type who laughs in the face of danger (or just lacks common sense), I defragged the SSD.

Defrag completed fairly quickly, and the Host Writes value was 305.13 GB.

So I took about 9 GB of "life" off my drive by defragging it. Sigh...

I work a computer store and since ssds are new Im still learning how they work. I heard perfect disk has a ssd optimizer but i wouldent try it.

A few months wow thats a bit much dont you think.

well I was saying if you regularly defragg it. As much as you would a regular hard drive. If you do it once, I'd say it wouldn't cut a noticeable amount off it's lifetime

I think "months" is an exaggeration. Let's say an SSD would normally last 5 years. I don't think doing a defrag one time will cause it to lose 2 months.

And yes, PD has a SSD optimize. No, it will not hurt the SSD.

It doesnt actually defrag, and move a lot of files.
Fragmentation does not affect a SSDs Read speed, this is quite true.

But, free space fragmentation can effect the write speeds.
Since a SSD must erase a block, before writing to it, this is why a defrag is a bad thing. Its causing alot of Erase/Write Cycles.
This in and of itself will not harm the SSD, its just using up the limited amount of writes the SSD is rated for faster, for no real improvements in return.
