Acciendently Started Deleting My Network

My dumb self accidently started deleted my network, I stopped it before it completely deleted everything. There is still a restore point I can use but I keep getting a message saying that my access is denied to the Recovery Folder. If I hit skip when that error comes up I get another error of 0x80070408 and that's when the restore stops and cannot finish.

My pictures, music, some of my apps are gone. I can still access some of my documents although I cant find the actual program, FOR EXAMPLE: I cannot find my Microsoft Word Anywhere, but under my documents the ones I've saved are still there, I can still manage to open those documents and it comes up with Microsoft Word just fine.

I tried changing permission settings and making sure everything is showing to give myself Full Control, but even then it wont let me change any permissions/security, once again it gives me NO ACCESS. Seems like somehow I deleted access to everything.

Please help me, im running on Windows 7.

You can also do a system restore from there too. To get to safe mode power on and tap F8.

Post back what you find. Oh and some system specs would be handy too.

The system wont even let me into the options I choose to go into those set up screens. I get into the reboot system choose one of the options and they all just disappear after and send me directly to the log in screen

Sorry late reply ppham mate can you get into safe mode and run those scans? If not then I think we might be in a bit of strife here.

I hope you can tell me you have most of your wanted data backed up because things will get worse from here if not.
One way of accessing the data would be to do this

BOOTABLE UBUNTU

Make a bootable Ubuntu disk http://www.ubuntu.com/download

Set the BIOS to boot from the optical when the machine boots it will show you a screen with TRY or INSTALL> select TRY

When it is finished - it takes very little time you will get a screen like in the pic .

Open the drive you want > User and dig down until you get to the data / settings you may be able to copy / paste the material you want to an external source or other installed drive doing this.

I am not sure if it will but I have recovered tons of data etc using this method both on "dead" or just plain drives that you cannot get data from using Windows.

if I download the above does it change the system on my computer? it sounds like it would change the layout and stuff.

No mate it will just temporarily boot into Ubuntu as long as you use TRY and not INSTALL.

Once loaded you can work away at getting the data off. When finished just power off as normal take out the Ubuntu disk and reset the BIOS to boot from the hard drive or whatever you want to. For example if you are going to reinstall set it to the optical drive.

Keep the disk as it is a handy tool.

I'm about to give up on trying to figure this out. I am now thinking of factory resetting my computer, but its requiring a cd, do you know if I am able to reset without a cd.

Sorry late reply PP mate if you are going to reinstall you can use this but unless you have any data you want saved you will lose it all .

Just read the tutorial thoroughly first. It requires downloading the ISO for the very same version of Windows that was originally installed and using the activation code on the machine's sticker.
As the tutorial says ask if not sure of what to do.
PS Meant to mention this does not need a factory disk just the ISO disk you will need to make.

what kind of disk do I need to use to save the ISO on? At this point most of my data is already lost so I just need to do the reset

Sorry for late reply again PP mate just a normal optical disk (DVD) or a stick as long as it has at least 4GB space on it. I prefer the disk myself as I have a large number of sticks and find storing disks easier but a stick will work as well
