Acer Aspire 4553 won't boot up

I need your help people! I have a practically brand new ACER ASPIRE 4553 (1 month old, max) and I was experiencing some reboot failures and also having problems turning the computer on, how's that? Well, for example when rebooting the computer it did not turn back on (kept a black screen, no sounds, in other words wasn't booting). So I manually turned it off by holding down the power button and then back on, sometimes it took a couple of tries to make it work but usually that did the job.

The same logic goes for powering it on form the start..

Now, at this moment the computer won't boot up at any means, not that I know of.
I noticed that the HDD light isn't blinking at all, So I though that maybe for some reason the computer could not access the HDD, the other LED indicators (< is that correct?!) aren't blinking either, actually they blink just one time when I hit the power button and then stop. The power button stays on.

So I did some research and found that it could be a BIOS problem, the solution I found is for the Acer Aspire One notebook, therefore I couldn't figure out a way to make that work on the 4553, didn't even try 'cause I know how risky messing with the BIOS is.

*--* Quite a text right there hum? Okay, so, here I'm.. Can anybody help me, please? I honestly don't know what else to do.

A little more research and I found that this problem is called "The Black Screen of Death", motherfukc***, sorry..

Found this site http://www.acerlaptoprepairs.info, there are a few articles showing how to recovery the bios and stuff but there is none regarding my model, 4553. I'm honestly giving up hope. I'm running out of time too. Am I in the wrong section? 'Cause nobody seems to have interest in helping me.

Well first, if this is a new laptop it is under warranty and you should first attempt to return it for replacement or repair. Making major changes on your own may void that warranty.

If the laptop will not boot at all you could try a power reset:
To perform a power reset:

1. Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter or the power cord from the computer.
2. Press and hold down the power button on the computer down for 30 seconds and then release the button.
3. Plug in the AC adapter or power cord again, reinsert the battery, and power on the computer.

The BIOS upgrades for the 4553 show corrections to a no-boot situation, so you may be on the right track with a need for a BIOS upgrade (but see point one above). The problem is that you need to be able to get into the BIOS to do an upgrade on most machines, so until you can get it to BOOT that option is not available.

Flashing the BIOS is serious business. Do it wrong and you turn your shiny new laptop into a brick. So let's see if you can get into the bios first and check some things. Usually you press the DEL, F2, or ESC key when the laptop first starts to get in (check your screen - it will say what key somewhere). Don't make any changes unless you are sure of what they do. Just check to see you can get in and look around, then we can take it from there.

Also, be sure your model number is exact: 4553 and not 4553g. Installing the wrong BIOS will cause a very bad day.

Thank you very much for your help, though the "power reset" was the first thing I tried. Like I said I know the risks of messing with the BIOS and yeah, you're right, I don't wanna fu** my notebook up, might just get it to the store.

Hmm, It's kinda' frustrating knowing what's the issue, which is a corruption of the BIOS, knowing the solution, BIOS recovery and not being able to do it. Yeah, tho' one thing I learned from all this, there won't be a next time ACER and BTW you can kiss my ass (talking to ACER here)..

Have you tried Just Removing the Battery and Booting Without the Battery in the laptop? (Obviously PLug it into the Mains whilst the battery is removed)

I had a laptop that used to do the exact same, and it sorted it.

If its only a month old you could always return it but you might lose your data.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I tried. Can you post a guide or something about how to do the "BIOS Recovery" thing? It's ****ing Carnival here in Brazil, so all stores are closed for one whole week, can you believe it?! Please, I need to use my computer, can't stay a week without it.

Well, there may be some confusion, because when you say the computer won't BOOT, to me that means it won't start to a point where you could get into the BIOS to do any update.
But if you mean that Windows won't STARTUP, then that is a different story.

You press the F2 key when the laptop first starts to get into your BIOS.

Can you get into your BIOS?

If you can, to update the BIOS you go here (if your exact model number is 4553):
Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / Aspire / Aspire 4553
Go to the BIOS TAB
Download BIOS version 1.17 (this version will also contain the upgrades in versions 1.14 & 1.10). Extract the ZIP file and save the files(s) onto a USB Stick.

• Now go to the "Support Documents" Tab
• Click on "Acer Aspire Support Documents"
• Click on "Guides & Manuals"
• Click on "Acer Aspire 4553, 4553G Service Guide"
• Click + to expand "System Utilities"
• Click on "Bios Flash Utilities"
• Read the instruction carefully.

Use only the "DOS Flash Utility". Flashing a BIOS from within the Windows environment is much riskier than from DOS.

You have this problem right off the bat:

• You will need to get into the BIOS to change the BOOT ORDER settings to boot from the USB device before the hard drive.

Can you get into your BIOS?

Be sure you are plugged in when flashing the BIOS (not on battery power). Do not do anything else while flashing the BIOS - don't touch any keys, don't move your mouse, nothing!

Step 3: execute the BIOS.BAT - that is usually performed by restarting the computer.

Nop, I cannot access the BIOS, there is just this black screen, the power button stays on and nothing else. Please read the first post again, there are some links attached to it showing the exact same problem on the Acer Aspire One. Thanks a lot for your kindness, I'd appreciate further help.

That's why I suggest returning it. If you can't get into the BIOS you are cooked.

Be sure to try that reset process precisely. If it does not work, give it up.

Oh man , I can't believe this shit, I must be coursed, there is mo other way.
Can't return it, I'm gonna send it to the store, after the Carnival, so they can fix it.
