Acer Aspire 5538-1096

Acer Aspire 5538-1096 this model was a bit strange for me due to it was given to me with black screen,
I connected it to a monitor but still black screen, I took out the screen to remove the inverter board
but I did not see any, Where is it if it has ? or May the screen be damage for replacement ?
What may have caused the black screen on this model laptop ?

If the external monitor is black when plugged in and you get no image at all on either, then it sounds like your display adapter has failed if the mobo is still starting up.

Tks greg but can you tell me where is this display adapter in this unit or model ? So I can remove it and buy another.

Unfortunately it's on the mobo so is very difficult to replace.

Are you getting any kind of signal at all on the screen, even the BIOS boot screen?

If so can you boot a disk?

no type f image on screen total black, not even in a dark room to see any shiny effort, not laptop nor external monitor but the laptop powers on, fan works and I hear the disk spin.

That doesn't tell us if the mobo is working. Is there an LED showing CPU or HD activity?
