We're having trouble connecting to the internet via a wireless network. I've googled about it and surprisingly many people who bought the same product experienced the same thing. I've gone so far as to reformat and upgrade the OS for this netbook which is Windows 7 Ultimate and re-install some of its crucial drivers. I tried different wireless network drivers for it (Atheros, Broadcom, Realtek) but to no avail. Btw, I installed the drivers for its wireless network one after another without uninstalling the previous when such particular driver won't work, will that affect the system in any way? Also, the main question here is how do I fix the wireless connection for this netbook?

Here's what I did.
First, connect your wireless pc to the router with a cable, change the SSID & Password, making sure the encryption type is compatible for your adapter. Power off the pc, power off the router, wait 1 minute and restart it, waiting till all lights show connected then restart your pc, enter new password. Now if it works, old connections can be trashed.

Hi dothackjhe,

How is your wireless network setup? Mine is Modem=> Router=> Computers

Are you using any 3rd party wireless manager to connect, usually it's a software associated with your Wi-Fi device?

An ipconfig /all output would be great for us to review.
Click on Start => in run or search box type cmd press enter (run as Admin for Vista and 7). From the black screen, type the word ipconfig /all and press enter. Right click on the black screen or Command prompt then choose Select All and Paste the results onto your Post.

What seems to be causing wireless internet connection problem with this model of Acer's netbook?

Make sure that you have a password on the Acer. There is a Windows policy about that you can turn on/off.

Did you mean Windows 7's User Account Control? I usually have that turned off, of which my brother's netbook is also. What I'm thinking right now about the matter is there's a configuration somewhere for that particular model that hinders it from getting wireless connection or the router itself has settings that also contribute to the problem.

Thanks for the output. Have you tried downloading the latest driver from Atheros site?

Also, what type of Security or Firewall software does the NB has?

I wonder if this NB can connect to a diff Hotspot or Wi-Fi connection?

I tried almost every possible drivers for the netbook's wireless internet connection one after another without uninstalling the previous if it didn't work lol. As for what type of firewall / security the netbook has, I'm positive that either Windows 7's default firewall / security are in used or that of BitDefender 2012's. Prior to BitDefender 2012 being installed, it already has problems accessing wireless internet connections though it used to work on some other wireless connections.

Is it not working anymore or not connecting to other Wi-Fi connections?
though it used to work on some other wireless connections.
From your own wireless network please these:

Change the wireless channel to 1, 6 or 11. See if you're able to connect, if not remove the network encryption from the router, just a test to see if your computer is able to connect. If you're able to connect, try a WPA security, apply the same setting the computer then try connecting.

Post an update please.

I'm not sure either what causes it, but apparently most people who own the same model of netbook have the same problem.
