i have a acer x1700 with a dual core
it says it can be upgraded to core 2 duo.. and core 2 quad...
does that mean i need a bigger psu to run a quad?
and whatst he best and the correct version of the quad to put in it or does it even matter?
and secondly whats a good low profile graphics card to throw in there that will take my psu its is a 220 psu.
its low but i wanna no get a new psu if i dont have to thanks

If your looking to upgrade I would use this PSU calculator to give you a rough idea of what you would need for a PSU. Generally speaking, retail PC's (store bought) PSU's are undersized to start with along with everything else in the case. That's not to say there's nothing wrong with buying retails PC's. I own 3 retail PC's along with 1 custom built PC.
