Acer Aspire V772G-9829-V3 laptop Win 7 Pro [64] 7601 - Windows XP mode.
After PaulB, Snick, and I fought long and smart to get all those Windows Updates, Repair Install, a few more WUs, finally V3 laptop is all fixed up. However, Windows XP Mode is broken. I have the files necessary to get right back to that particular virtual machine up and running, what is broken: a folder[?] and some files are either corrupt or gone -- cannot apply my old MSI to fix. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a newer EXE or MSI for setting up Windows XP Mode within Windows 7 Professional.

After the WUs, after Repair Install, after a few more WUs, windows xp mode no longer worked, missing some dll whatsit. I thought using a long ago MSI would fix, did not appear to do so, I downloaded and installed the latest found wxpmode EXE install, desktop icon remained white. I activated a KBwhatever. Upon restart, windows updated something, and as the fishermen say - the cods be praised - wxpm returned. I was able to copy back into C whatever from my D saves the entire wxpm desktop, session, everything, it all works aok
