On my Windows 7 computer Acrobat Reader all of a sudden took over all icons. Everything tried to open in Acrobat Reader. When I right-clicked the Skype icon and specified Open With Skype, all the icons turned into Skype and tried to open with Skype. The same happened when I right-clicked and used Open with on the Windows Mail icon. The only solution was to uninstall Acrobat Reader. Recently I came across someone else who has the same problem, but has not been able to solve it.

I would do a little Googling and find out whether you even need Acrobat. The choice would be yours.

Thanks! I'm not a tech person and found Lady Bear's suggestion much easier on my confidence. I installed Foxit and now I can read PDF's again. The response has been great - thanks again!
