I am using Try and Decide to install a software . When I reboot after install, the computer does not start Windows 7 Ultimate 64. I just have a black screen with the message "BOOTMGR is corrupt.System cannot boot!!! I power off and start up again and the Acronis loader comes up with the choice to Try and Decide or go back and disable.
I tried Try and Decide without installing the software and just rebooting and the same result.
If I choose to revert back to disable Try and Decide, then Windows boots up ok.
I uninstalled - reinstalled Acronis but same results.
Can you help me, please ? Thats really annoying.
Thanks in advance.
PS : Do you know some similar programs ( like Try and Decide from Acronis ) which give me the option to install something on my PC, but to have the option to keep it or discard changes during reboot ?

Hello stereo,

While I do not know how to resolve your issue, Sandboxie is an excellent program to use instead of Acronis Try and Decide. I did hear a lot of issues regarding Acronis Try and Decide, I think Sandboxie will be safer, but I don't think it will have the option to do discard/keep it during reboot. :)

I use 3 uninstall programs:
- Revo Uninstaller (everyday use)
- Mirekusoft Install Monitor (freeware) - works well, but not (IMO) as thorough as the next one (but still very good):
- Total Uninstall (30 day free trial, then costs $30 (US) - tracks every durned thing that happens while installing a program - then gives you the option of uninstalling all of it!

While I do not know how to resolve your issue, Sandboxie is an excellent program to use instead of Acronis Try and Decide.
Sandboxie and Acronis Try and Decide are very different applications to do very different things. I don't see anyway that Sandboxie could be a suitable replacement for Acronis Try and Decide.
