Very easy one. When you install do not include your key number and uncheck the box indicacting automtatic activation. After installation, but before 30 days call the activation number for your region, you can activate by phone. The phone activation, will be by touch tone, if there is a problem you will be elevated to a person. However the normal activation method would probably work. Have a Happy New Year

Folowing up on Rich's advice, you can extend it another 90 days if necessary.

Save a Win7 backup image so you never have to reinstall again anyway.

If you get an itchy finger, you could try to activate and explain the travel situation as MS typically has lenient common sense policies.

The worst that could happen is it could then default to 3 days to activate at which point you could reimage in 15 minutes to start over.
