I bought a licence for my security that included a card> Now I am a but dumb with these things so I peeled off the plastic strip expecting to find an activation code (Kaspersky Android) but all I found was a set of ten letters.
Thinking this was the code I entered it in only to find it told me it was not the code required. So what do I have to do to get that activation code?? No instructions on the packet or on the Kaspersky site.
Now to make matters worse I bought a 3 machine 2 year licence for Kaspersky for my other machines as that was cheaper than renewing the existing licence, and if the same thing applies then I shall be stuck.

It might Brian I will have a play around with it. It doesn't have one of those special code thins just a bar code and I al wondering if the set up is different over here as I know Kaspersky is regional after sending my brother in the UK couldn't use it as I installed and configured it out here only to find it has the be bought and put on the UK.
I have asked support out here but they are really quite slow. In the meantime the free version appears to work.
But thanks for something to be getting on with

No go Brian have tried all sorts of things - what I don't get at all is that the back of the key licence card does not have an activation code on it only a string of ten letters.
I have never used these cards before and I did post asking if someone could point me in the right direction but no replies.
So I reckon I am stuck until Monday when I shall have to phone Kaspersky in Melbourne and ask them what the dickens is going on.
It really annoys me when things like this happen as the are quick enough to take the money yet we end up with complete and utter muck ups like this.
I hope I get some proper answers because I also bought a 3 machine 2 year licence card to renew my other three machines that are due for renewal and the card cost way less than the ordinary licence renewal method.

Well Brian and Ranger perhaps I am reading it wrong but the app was on the phone and it installed but when I go to Premium features it then goes to get all features but that is when the fun begins it says Purchase a licence or I have an activation code.
Now of course all I have is that ten letter screed on the licence card I bought and it is not an activation code. So I am left wondering what the heck do I have to do to get the activation code??
I did read those articles before Ranger but nothing that is suggested throughout those links is of any use to me.
I shall have to leave it until tomorrow and contact Kaspersky in Melbourne and drag it out with them.
Quite frankly I don't know why the activation code could not be on that card one buys it seems crazy. Having dealt with Kaspersky support before I know how convoluted it can get and that in itself is a pain for sure.

Hi John ... I think it must be activated some how over the Phone ... Will get in touch with my son he should know what the problem is .. Will get back to you asap ....
Thanks Brian it is only when I go to the Premium Features on the phone (a little golden crown) to a screen that says Anti-Virus and at the bottom it says "Get all features" (now those features are SMS anti Phishing / Privacy Protection /Web Protection) click on that Get all and it goes to a screen showing "Purchase a licence" (which I have with that stupid card) or "I have an activation code".
Click on the latter and a screen comes up with "Enter the code here" and it is a 4 X 5 alpha-numerics code ie 123AB-456DF-678GH-ABC12

Apparently one of my Sons mates had to use it John ... Not sure if it was Kaspersky though but he said it should be the same principal ... Should be simple enough to use take a Photo and use the scan App ... Might activate automatically or else give you the Key Code ...

Oops sorry Brian thought I had posted but I finally got some awful call centre that Kaspersky have set up and it came down to me quoting that ten letter stamp on the card and they emailed me the activation code.
So all fixed - I did try the bar code but it didn't come up with anything mind you the apps for a bar code reader were very numerous and I just picked one at random.
A stupid system I think and one that some info on the packing of that key card could have avoided me having run around looking for an answer. Why the activation code itself is not on the card is a mystery to me as it would be nigh impossible for you or I to see what it was.
But thanks mate fro trying.
John
