Hey guys, so I'm trying to set up an ADHOC network on my computer so I can go on the internet with my ipod. I'm living in the dorms, so I have to use ethernet to connect my laptop, and I'm trying to connect to my laptop with my ipod. Now a few weeks ago, I had successfully set up a network and was able to get online with my ipod. Since then, the network has stopped working. I'm able to connect with my ipod, and I see the wireless bars saying it's connected on the ipod, but I can't get on the internet.
When I first set up the network, I started in the network and sharing center. I gave it a name, a password with wep security, clicked save network, and after that I was able to click a button that said Share Internet or something like that. After that I was able to get online on the ipod. However now when I try to create a network, that internet sharing option is gone, and i'm not able to get any internet. Can anyone help me out here?

Are you able to not get online via the network cable? My guess would be that an RA noticed the wireless signal, and disconnected your room.

Also, have you run an Antivirus scan recently? If not, kick off a full one.

Ok I just figured it out, so for anyone having this problem here's something to check. Go to manage wireless networks and click Adapter Properties and configure your wireless adapter then go to advanced, and make sure the Adhoc is enabled. Haha simple enough
