Add a new switch or merge networks?

Hi to all. Sorry to jump straight in with a question on my first post.

My current set up is all wired, with 6 pcs running from a single broadband router, connected with cables through two switches. All pcs on Windows 7, some Home Premium and some Professional.

As a result, of my 6 pc's I have 4 on network 2, one showing network 3 and one with an unspecified network.

I would like to ask if it makes sense to replace the two 5 port switches with one 8 port switch, to bring all the LAN cables together. My logic being that this would put all the pcs on the same newly created network.

Or would it just be easier to merge the existing networks? I've considered merging but I'm not convinced this would resolve the unspecified network issue, and as my business relies on all pcs having access to each other for file and printer sharing I don't want to mess this up.

Hope someone can help,

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Other than the name does everything work ok? It maybe simpler with a new switch or you could just rename network

Thanks Samuria!

I've had some issues with some pc's not allowing file sharing with certain others, and what I really want is all pcs on the network to allow file sharing with all the others.

I've resolved most of this, but the most important two are resisting my persuasion attempts and are only allowing one way communication.
