Since it works there, then that means that the program Word 2003 doesn't support this and it will not work in that specific program.

It should work in most programs that officially support Windows 7, and in all included programs/features (ex: Notepad, etc...) in Windows 7.

Hey, I used this trick and it seems to work, but not entirely. I added 5 certain locations now with no problems. Desktop, Documents and three custom locations. The problem I have was when I wanted to add: Desktop, Documents, Computer and two custom locations, the Computer never showed up on any window. "Network" also never showed up when I was trying. So basically, when it was set to Desktop, Documents, Computer and two custom locations, all was fine except the Computer shortcut. So there was only four buttons. When it was set to Desktop, Documents and three custom locations, I could see all 5 buttons everywhere.

I don't even have to restart the app to check the changes. I'm using gpedit.

Any ideas why it is playing like that?

Try using MyComputerFolder as the entry in GPEDIT for Computer instead to see if that may work better for you.

Nope didn't work

Forgot to mention that the Cumputer itself worked when I left one place blank. As soon as I added another place, the computer disappeared... No matter whether it was place 1 or place 5

To be honest, my documents and desktop folders are also custom locations anyways. I changed the default location, but here it is:

Well, I think I spotted the problem with Computer not showing up. You do not have MyComputerFolder listed as one of the five options/elements in that screenshot. Can you give an example with it included when it does not appear?

Sorry, I also forgot to mention that MyComputerFolder didn't work for me. Even I typed that in my language..

When I added F:\Stuff\Desktop it worked ok, but I could only see 4 buttons (see above)

The only thing I can think of is that there must be something different used in the language translation for MyComputerFolder. Possible a different wrod used in your language for it. The English version works fine for me with the way you had it in a English Windows 7.

Microsoft Office 2003 uses its own version of the Save dialog and have Add to "My Places" option on the tools menu. Just navigate to the folder you want to add and select that option. Then you can right click on the shortcut to raise or lower it.

I know the thread is old but it might help somebody else.
