partitions:
1. XP (active, boot)
2. Win7

boot menu worked fine.
cloned partition 2 to partition 3. used Easy BCD Edit to add it. Called it Win7Prod
If I choose Win7Prod from the boot menu, it boots to partition 2. How do I fix this?

Current setting: (currently booted into Win7 to pull this info)

Typically when you clone a partition or drive, if you used a cloning tool, you would need to remove the original drive before booting to the clone.

Since it is a clone, the Windows boot loader gets confused.

I would use a backup software to create an image of partition 2 and recover it to partition 3. Then use Easy BCD to fix the boot.

What did you use to clone the partition?

Also, the EULA would require you to get another Windows 7 license since two Windows 7 installations are on the same system.

I used ghost 8.3 32bit (the last of the original Ghost code before Norton changed it completely)
I ran it while booted in partition 1

I cloned it to be used as a Windows 10 upgrade test.

There were originally 4 partitions:
1. xp
2. xp 64 bit
3. win7
4. win8 (not 8.1) and this was the last OS to get installed.

i deleted 2 and 4. slid 3 over to fill the missing space from 2. all was fine. then cloned (it created a new partition in the empty space at the end of the drive).
