I hope someone out there can give me some advise! I am currently running Windows 7 7022 32bit as well as XP 32bit (dual boot) on my system. The problem I am facing is that I am attempting to install the 7048 build 64bit OS, on a separate partition, but for some strange reason I just cannot get my system to boot into the installation DVD. And yes, it is the ISO version, and, yes, I've burned it at x4 speed.
I have created disks with PowerISO, MagicISO, as well as Nero. I even made a bootable USB, all to no avail. I just can't get it to boot!
Does it have something to do with the fact that I am currently on a 32bit system? I just don't know.

Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi,

Did you check the values - should be :

CRC32: C1F5E94F
MD5: 73433BBAC55719774FCEFC767750C60A
SHA-1: 0477B05A682F66AA4D7F59B1FAF1FE864D2A6368

When you pick it up with PowerIso does it say bootable image at bottom left of PowerIso main window?

You could always extract the files and run the setup.exe directly from your current installation , instead.

Hope it helps

SIW2, the values are correct, and I can't run from 'setup' as I am currently on a 32bit OS. And, yes, it is bootable.
This is really causing me a headache, but thanks for trying.
Angryman, even when I make my DVD drive first in the BIOS. I can't understand this!!

Hi,

I recall ( if memory serves) that i mounted 32bit in Daemon Tools on Vista 64 bit and was able to install from the Virtual drive -that's the other way round, of course.

I assume you can boot other dvd/cd's ?
If not, you might check your manufacturers website for updates to the firmware/ drivers for your dvdrom drive. Or try reinstalling the current ones - you never know.

SIW, he has only 32bit OSs installed - running setup for a 64bit OS will fail every time from inside the 32it OS.

TB - Have you tried any of the DVDs on any other machine to see if they are bad or not?

You can check your iso and your DVD by trying an installation on a virtual Machine like VirtualBox

Start an installation with the ISO file (see virtualBox configuration). If the VM start well, you may tri with your DVD.

So you will know where is the probleme : the ISO, the DVD or your bios configuration ;)

(VirtualBox allow 64bit Guest on a 32bit host system)

What settings for the VM ?

But for your firts probleme it's not really a big issue.
If you where able to boot on the Seven installation program under the VM so the ISO is good and may boot on your machine.

Did you try with the DVD you have burn ? If so, we can say there's no probleme with it, and you may check your bios configuration for boot settings.
