Hello;

I'm in the process of setting up Win7x64 the way I like it and one of those things is to get a search button on the right side of the Start Menu. I saw in the Vista Forums that it could be done (Search Start Menu Button - Restore after SP1 - Vista Forums) by replacing the one of the existing buttons.

Unfortunately, when I tried the run the supplied REG file, I get the following error:

Cannot Import ..... Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes.

Any ideas on how to work around this?

Sincerely;
Michelle

Hello Michelle, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might try this Search shortcut to see if it mau work for you instead. You can pin it to the Start Menu or taskbar for easy use.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
