Adjusting window frames

Hi there,

I was wondering if there is any way to remove window framing system-wide in Windows 7. I. e. remove the thin borders around the window/application/context menu. Removing them only for windows would be alright as well.

If that is not possible on default themes, are there borderless themes out there for Windows 7? Or is it possible to remove the black outlines on the right and bottom of the classic theme as seen here?

just try some of the shadows under etc it might not have any effect but worth a play with.

In fact the whole tutorial (top link) is in my mind a must.

If nothing changes then it depends on what you want if it just simple stuff like your example there are plenty of add on stuff that you could use - a caution though be careful what you are downloading is safe - if not sure - ask.

indeed a very helpful collection of tweaks. I have already been through the visual adjustments though - the closest thing are "window shadows" in there and a BorderWidth registry entry. Both however do not completely remove the window frames or the black lines at the right and bottom that come with the classic theme. Maybe there's more in the registry? The frame size in the Window Color panel won't accept 0, but I think BorderWidth is the corresponding registry entry and it won't remove the frames even at 0 (BorderWidth).

Yes I am afraid it might be one of those things one cannot change but do remember to keep that reg back up - being a bit OCD I keep a double copy of that reg back up for safety's sake.

There could be something in the registry but you need to get onto someone who is really clued up on writing that stuff.
