Admin issues preventing bridging connections

I read over a few of the forum posts on how to bridge connections with Windows 7, and followed the instructions to the letter. Now the problem that is killing me is this:
Windows keeps poping up with the error saying "You do not have sufficient privilages for configuring connection properties. Contact your administrator." :sarc: I am my admin. I am the only user on this laptop. WHY IN THE BLOODY WORLD WON'T WINDOWS ACCEPT THIS?! *Sigh* I am getting very, very frustrated with both devices and am begining to eye the sledge hammer.

Please any help would be graciously accepted!

On another note, I've also read over the post talking about taking the machien off the domain. Honestly I havn't the slightest clue as to what this means, so im guessing I either havn't learned about it in the past or just have heard it explained under a different term.

Could you check your UAC settings?
This can be accessed by going to >Control Panel>User Accounts and Family Safety>User Accounts>Change User Account control Settings.
You will need to access this via admin credentials.

If it's a program that's telling you that you don't have sufficient priviledges, you can try running it in Administrator mode.

My UAC settings are still set to default. I'm new enough at tweeking things I've kept it like that for my "If you keep this up, you're going to screw up something......are you sure you want to do that?" training wheels.

Lol, I hate to admit it, but the last time I tried messing with admin mode was with XP, I was an admin at a school at the time, and that was 8 years ago, so my memory has slipped...

Another thought (something else I read) was that if the router had the same IP address as the modem it would also tweek things if you were trying to do this. I've no clue if it was bs, but it sounded legit (as if that isn't half the problem with people screwing up their own equipment.) Still trying to get my router to put out a wireless signal now that has internet access. *sigh* lol, being a newb is...testing my patience.
