Hi,

Let's say I named my initial user acc during win installation 'Steve'. And entered computer name as 'T2X'.

Today I realised that under C:\Users, in addition to the User Acc 'Steve', i have another called 'Steve.T2X'.
Some of the windows settings and programs i have begun installing are in my original 'Steve' account folder, some are on the duplicate.

Under Control Panel>User Accounts, i do not see any 'Steve.T2X', just 'Steve'.

Why did this happen, and more importantly how do i merge both user physical FOLDERS (since under User Account it's ok, there is still only one admin account) back to 'Steve'?

I can't create a new admin acc, delete the first etc. because i would lose all the windows settings and tweaks i have been working on.

Just want to merge the physical folders under C:\Users.

Thanks in advance.

Can i just physically copy over all the directories under 'Steve.T2X' to 'Steve' copy & replace, then somehow delete 'Steve.T2X'?

Let me point out again that at Logon/under Control Panel> User Accounts, i have no new user account appearing, there's still only my main Admin Acc 'Steve'. This problem is in physical file/folder structure under c:\users itself.

i have found a guide online that resolved this matter. Adding the link here, in case anyone needs a guide for similar issues :-

How to rename a default user directory after changing computer name?

Did you delete and recreate the "Steve" account? Doing that would have created a new user profile, resulting in two sets of folders for Steve.

I'm not sure how to merge the two.
