Admin not able to change UAC type

I bought Vista x64 because of the free upgrade to Win7. After I updated I found that my two admin accounts were no longer admin, but standard. To make a too of a long story shorter, I was able to create a new admin account using net user adminitrator, but when I tried to make the other two accounts admins, the change button was grayed out.

After much Googling and a lot of help, the problem still existed. The assumption was to repair the system but but since it was an update dvd and not a full version DVD the only option was to update again and, of course, that didn't work either.

My question, finally, is Is there a registry entry that I can change/add that will allow me to fix this issue?

Hi there, as you said that you were able to login to the real admin account, could you try creating a new admin account and delete the old worn out accounts?

Actually I activated the built in admin account just last week and that didn't help. Will try a new one but I believe it has to do with some setting because even an admin account that I created when logged in admin couldn't be set to admin type
