admin rights - problems with "sub" exe

right so at work we now have windows 7
befor in xp i used to have developer tools and was able to do pritty much anything i needed to do which was great

now with windows 7 if i want to install something i have to right click the exe and click "Run with admin rights(audited)"

now im trying to install some software for my G15 keyboard

i downloaded the installer and ran with admin rights
this gives the installer one time admin rights. only problem is the installer initates another EXE which is hidden inside it somewhere that trys to run as well. this program hasnt asked for the rights so the PC shuts it down. the main installer then fails because one off its elements hasnt installed

any ideas?

Something else is going on. A sub process runs at the same level of its parent, unless the application choices to belay that, an executable running in a high process that runs a sub process is at the same level. The only way for this not to happen is if the application makes the decision to run the sub process in a lower level. Windows does not make that decision.

There are a lot of W7 PCs out there. I'd report the problem to the software publisher. I'm sure they want to be able to install on W7 machines.

Edit: what privilege does your account have? If you can read system logs that may provide a clue. If you are in Administrative Group try running it normally. Some installers automatically request running as System.

I would suggest because it is a work computer you should confide with your I.T. Department before you go making any changes to a company computer.
