Solved Administrator Account Issues

Hi, I may have done a big mistake while configuring a PC. There were two accounts, a user-type and an administrator-type. I only wanted to use the user-type and disabled the Admin account from lusrmgr.msc without thinking that the other account had no administrative rights.

Therefore, I can't install any programs because I must input the Administrator account password, but the password box is missing. I also can't enable the Admin account again because I have no admin rights on my actual account.

Is there anything to do about this or should I reinstall my Windows?

Solved: Reinstalled Windows 7. Although, this was an incredibly frustrating problem.

Hello Stely,

You might see if you may be able to enable the built-in Administrator at boot, and enable your other administrator account back.

Hi, I am unable to use any of the solutions above because those actions would require Administrative rights.
I am also unable to use my Windows 8 DVD because that also needs admin rights.

Are you able to undo your actions while booted into Safe Mode?

Cannot boot into safe mode. Using Shift + F8 ends up with: Please select boot device:
1. CD Asus
2. DVD Asus
3. HDD
4. Floppy Disk

It is the same problem.

In that case, you might try doing a system restore at boot using a restore point (if available) dated before you did this to hopefully undo it.

Otherwise, you may be looking at reinstalling Windows 7.
