I recently installed Adobe Flash Player 27 APPAPI but when my comp needs it...it tells me to install Adobe Flash Player.

Event viewer has no information (as far as I can see).

How might I find and solve the problem?

What browser are you using?. The one you have mentioned is for Chrome & Opera, but Internet Explorer needs a different one.

This Adobe website might help you get the right one.

There is no such thing as a "APPAPI" Flash. What one did you install? There are 3 different builds of Flash Player:
- PPAPI: For Chrome browser and its clones.
- ActiveX: For Internet Explorer, browsers that use its engine and often most (if not all) other desktop programs.
- NPAPI: For every other browser out there.

You can install some or all 3 of them at the same time, according to where you need to use it. Personally I always install all 3 so I can forget about this. The official download site lets you chose which one to download.

I'm using Google Chrome as my default browser but most of what i do needs the ActiveX build.

I'm sorry I failed to be more precise about which build is installed. I installed Adobe Flash Player 27 PPAPI.

Are there different settings with each build that requires customizing for them to work when they need to and not have any problems?

In newer versions of Chrome, Flash Player is disabled by default. You need to get into Chrome settings (advanced>content settings>Flash Player) to enable it, or your could keep it disabled across the board and simply add specific websites that need FP to an inclusion list.

I opted to install all 3 builds.

Things are going more smoothly.

Now there are hopes that there are no conflicts. Time will tell.
