Solved Adobe Flash Player

Hi Folks, my main browser is Google Chrome. I also occasionally use IE & Firefox Portable.
In Programs & Features I have Adobe Flash Player 25 ActiveX 25.0.0.148 and Adobe Flash Player 25 NPAPI
25.0.0.127 installed.
Do I need them both to be up to date or can I remove what I don't need.

Hi,
Not sure what anyone would do about flash in chrome but other browsers you can simply uninstall it or update each one separately if flash does not do it automatically
A out of date flash is nothing but a security hole so remove the holes or update them

If you use both browsers then you really do need to update both, using the correct update versions.

I use both IE & Opera daily & I always update both. Updating the IE flash player will not update the Chrome & Opera one & just updating the Chrome & Opera one will not update the IE one.

You can remove Adobe Flash Player 25 NPAPI 25.0.0.127 as it's no longer supported in Firefox.

Edit: You can disable Flash Player in Chrome advance settings (content settings), and add websites that require Flash Player (i.e streaming and games) into the inclusions list. This option was made available in a Chrome update that appeared last month.

When I was informed by this Forum there was an update for Adobe Flash Player, I first checked what versions I had installed.
I started by searching in IE for the update, OK so far. When doing same in Chrome I found it handles Flash itself. Started this thread for advice. ADF NPAPI has been removed but have not tested FF portable although I don't expect problems as I use it very little.

Flash auto updater is often faulty leaving behind remnants of old versions.

You asked about removing versions. I'd say it's best to fully remove flash player then clean install it.
