thanks for you help; I tried both with no success. I still get an 'installer does not initialize 'or a 'bootstrap error' and then an installer odes not initialize. On Googling problem it looks like there may be some leftover from an install at some point in the past. I use Revo mostly. I have tried most solutions available via Google but non have worked. The adobe installer has been replace/upgraded.. I have used the adobe clean tool no success.

The problem could be inferior Factory Preinstalled Win7 with all of the bloatware and duplicate utiltiies which have better versions built into Win7. These throttle Win7 from its native performance and can cause problems.

That's why most tech enthusiasts will not run such an install but instead Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Everything is provided in the blue link tutorial.

At the minimum I'd Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

If this doesn't resolve performance problems, work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

Greg....I am not sure what happened because I did so many things one after the other but I am now able to install adobe program..I am pretty sure it was updating the installer that did the trick, I guess this is not much help to others thanks for you input
