Adobe Photoshop CS4 Not Installing!

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and I used to have the CS4 Master Collection on this computer when I had XP on it. But now, it won't install correctly. I've tried installing the Master Collection, I've tried installing the Photoshop CS4 Trial from adobe.com, but to no avail.

Every time, it seems to install correctly, until the very end, where it says "Installation Complete With Errors." Then, when I try to run Photoshop, it says "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application."

I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling and reinstalling, but I can't figure it out! Any ideas?

hi heartbraden, welcome to the forums,

have you tried installing as admin?

ie uninstall, then right-click on setup.exe >> run as administrator?

hope this helps...

Yeah, I've tried installing as admin, and running the program as admin, as well as installing/running in compatibility mode for XP and Vista... nothing has worked so far...

Fixed! The weirdest thing... I had deleted the Users/Public/Documents folder earlier, thinking I wouldn't need it. Apparently Photoshop needs it to install. Working perfectly now!

If anyone else has this problem, do this:

Restore Public Folders

Encryption?

We had the same issue and it ended up to be encryption problems. The software was installed by one person and used by another. The installers profile uses encryption. When the second user attempted to open PS or AI, an error would appear stating that, "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application."

Using Procmon, we determined that the first file to show an "Access Denied" was C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Locales\en_US\Support Files\pack.inf. Upon inspection, the file was indeed encrypted with the installer's credentials. After decrypting the c:\Program Files\Adobe\ directory, all was well.

Hope this helps someone.

Rob
