OK - I take that back - It will work just fine (I'm told).
You need to start by downloading the Shockwave package. As Adobe will block you , i suggest getting it HERE (Filehippo host their own downloads).
There may be some extra plugins you require and they can be found HERE.

I haven't done this myself, but it is reported that it works fine with 7.

Report back here if you have success.

Hit the scales if this has been of help to you. :)

That's odd. I have shockwave and flash player both installed and working fine on my 64-bit 7201 install. When I visit Adobe - Test Adobe Shockwave and Flash Players, I see the following as shown in the attached image, indicating that shockwave and flash are installed properly in IE8 and Chrome.

I presume the OP is on about the actual seperate player, not the browser plugin.. Because the browser plugin works here.

(Just saying because the original poster nether specified)

I have now gone through the rigmarole. My suggestion works fine. After you do the install of the player (make sure Firefox is closed), reopen Firefox and go to the Adobe test page. You should get the notification in RustyFalcon's post. I had the additional plugin page open (by chance) and it automatically gave me the Xtras. Sweet.
