Advice between 2 processors (p4 vs celeron)
Hi there, I just want to know which would be a better processor here. I have a computer in my dads rooms, that he only uses it to surf the web, listen to music (winamp) and sometimes watch dvd on VLC.
right now im running on a p4 2.6/512/533, but I have found a celeron 2.8/128/400 around the house.
system:
P4 2.8ghz
mobo MSI MS-6577 v4.0 GL6E
1gb ddr pc2700
120gb 7200rpm IDE
intel 82845G
here the full specifications for both processors:
Compare Intel® Products
thanks in advance

Pentium 4, hands down. Don't even think about comparing the performance... the P4 wins hands down.

Yeah I have to go with P4 as well, I just (in the last 6 months or so) upgraded to a dual core from a P4. I loved that computer
By far it was a great processor and never balked on me for anything, including home recording, and for a long time I was running 512MB of Ram.

Agree with Lebon14, go with the P4. The celeron was the low end processor.
