Advice for job interviews ?'s to ask

I wasn't given the exact title, but here's a description from the email.

Acceptable candidates must possess extensive knowledge of PC based system including how to assemble and debug modern Intel architecture bases system including installing operating systems, debugging driver and hardware issues. Applications must be able to assemble a computer system from scratch as well as understand the details of reconfiguration systems with both hardware and BIOS changes. Applications must have a detailed understanding in DOS commands and how to operate Windows XP and Windows Vista. Applications must also have at one to two years of test execution experience.

My main weakness in job interviews is not having questions for the interviewer. I would appreciate suggestions on what to ask. This for an Intel interview through a contract service.

One question springs to mind - ask them if they are after people or programs.

Because an applicant can assemble a PC - an application can't. It would show them that you are observant and have a sense of humour.

(I hope you cut and paste, otherwise ignore the nitpicking )

It looks like a system builders job.

It really depends on what the job actually is to know what questions to ask.

For example if it's for a 'pre-built' production line, you could always ask about company procedures regarding defective components, or what debug apps they prefer to be used (give a few selections to show you know are talking about) etc.

But yes, it does sound like a system builders job.
Looks like its just saying are you capable of identifying and fitting components into a motherboard. Going into bios and making sure it is recognising the parts, drive boot sequence, video card etc...
Recognising BSOD and POST messages, and what to do to fix them...
Booting into DOS, making sure theres network, fdisk and other common dos commands...

Usually they make job descriptions more descriptive or complex than what the job actually is.

By the look of your system specs, 'custom built' in particular, it looks like you've already done all that. And a quick browse of your recent posts suggest to me you've been doing this for more than two years.
So I'm sure you'll be able to do the job just fine.

As for questions to ask them, this is not my strong point either.
But I do know you never ask if weekend work is required/expected, nor when/where is the lunch break/lunch room.

Its not overly important that you do ask them questions, but it does show that you are interested in it more than just having a day job. So if they mention something interesting that tickles your fancy, you could probably ask them to clarify or elaborate on that particular area. Or perhaps ask if in-house training is provided or if further training opportunities will be available? Usually it is, and often after 6-12months of service.
