Advice on First and New build

I was wanting anyone's opinion this build, this build will be used for gaming like Aion online and Multimedia like Adobe after effects, what do you guys think? This is a budget build for school and minor gaming keep in mind. Any Suggestions??

I would say for a budget build and such that 8GB of RAM is probably overkill.

Also, without question...get a better quality power supply. These are really the heart of any system. I'd say at 750 watts of power...you want to spend no less than about $100 on it.

750W seems a bit much, im no expert (do research) but i have 3 HDDs 4 big fans, lights, graphics card and sound card all on 450W. id also like to recommend 2 PC builders

yeah the reason Im getting this cheap psu from geeks cause i have a psu i bought there for like nothing (500w) extremely cheap, and it works i trust the 33 dollar power supply cause of what geeks do to get there items, but yeah I was planning to over clock the CPU cause i heard it over clocks well with this motherboard

If it's worth risking to you, go for it. Personally, I ensure quality cases and power supplies.

3 things pop out.

#1, open box + BIOSTAR board = mehh , motherboard is not really the place to cheap out on a new build, I'd go for an ASUS or GIGABYTE here.

#2, 750W seems like a lot for a build like this, I'd go for something in the 550W/600W range (Corsair, Antec, etc).

#3, 8GB ram, 100% overkill, 4GB should be plenty.

3) 4GB of Ram is plenty. 2x2GB You can add 4GB later if you really need it. Not likely.

On RAM it depends what games you play. If you play any of the new, RAM hungry games, 8GB would be better. Otherwise go with 4GB.

Yeah ill go with that ill find a power supply on new egg thats reliable i dont feel like replacing a whole computer or a house for that matter if it decided to burn the house or something =/

You must take a look and read the reviews on this great board. I'm seeing for around $135.00 and with your 3.2 quad and the 8 gigs of ram it will scream and OC very well. This is the board I'm considering for my next build. No legacy stuff on it as well which cleans up the topography a lot. Oh and please as mentioned don't go cheap on the PSU it's the heart of the system and later this board because of the Fusion technology you can any second GPU later and gain the benefits of hybrid SLI !

"Open Box" means that NewEgg only guarantees that the motherboard is in the box. There may be no I/O shield included. It's not vital, but I'd want the shield.

The GTX 460 768MB card is significantly more powerful than the GTS 450. It costs a bit more, and you'd want a PSU that can supply two 6 pin PCI-E power connectors. (That may inspire you to get a less cheesy power supply than the one that you list, which has a single 6+2 pin PCI-E connector, and two 12V rails at 22A each, which is unimpressive for a "750W" PSU.)

For the system you're building a 750 watt power supply is a bit much. You might consider saving a little money by going with a quality 550-650 one instead.

And as everyone has suggested...... DO NOT SKIMP ON A POWER SUPPLY!!!
