Advice on install

Hi.
I picked up a few 1TB Hitachi Hard drives (SCSI) and I would like to install them as my boot up drives; or not if you all' dont think that is a good idea. I have two IDE drives now, which boot to Win7 Ultimate. I would like to clone them to the SCSI to have them do the work and get rid of them. Any suggestions on how to go about this the Painless way?

I would try one at a time. Do you have a cloning app or are any of the IDE drives WD or Seagate so you can use one of their free Acronis cloning apps?

If not, then you can use Win7 backup imaging to save the image externally or to another HD, then boot Repair CD to reimage to the new HD. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/663-backup-complete-computer-create-image-backup.html

Thanks for the info, I tried to use Acronis and I was able to clone both drives.
The system now boots up with the new cloned c drive, it is a Hitachi HDS721010CLA JP4O as described by Acronis.
The other drive is the same

The problem I have is that I cant see the 2nd drive, it shows up in the bios, shows up in acronis but doesnt show up to the system.

Any suggestions

Look in Disk Management to see if the other HD shows up. You may have to assign it a letter.

If not, boot free Partition Wizard bootable CD which will give an accurate reading when Disk Mgmt sometimes doesn't. See if you can add a drive letter there. If not, post back a camera snap.

Can you boot the other HD using BIOS one-time Boot Menu key, or by changing the boot order?

I went into Disk Management and changed it, removed old drive and re-booted. Worked Great. Thanks AGAIN for your help.
