MSE is not enough. You also need anti malware like Malwarebytes or Superantispyware alongwith MSE.
I use Malwarebytes and scan my computer weekly for malware.

Yeah MSE doesn't provide protection against Malware. I use Malwarebytes which is a very good anti malware program

Erm yes it does. It scans for virii, spyware and malware. Just read the homepage!

Microsoft Security Essentials provides real-time protection for your home PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.

My choice of applications are MSE and SuperAntiSpyware which I feel is enough to detect most things.

Sorry my bad just thought MSE just scans for Viruses and Spyware, like Avast 5.

Hitman Pro is free for scanning, only takes a few minutes to scan and is a very small file size, yet is good at catching active threats.

I recommend it along with another anti-malware program (Malwarebytes).

Note: Files marked as suspicious by Hitman Pro (rarely occurs) are not deemed threats. Don't remove them.
