I want to get a SSD, lets say 60gig, as I can install other items on other drive. Also lets say I want to use These people.

Now I'm looking at this Drive and was wondering as it said on the Drive that it will work on Sata II. Now the item of Advice im looking here is,

Will the Sata II run at the FULL 300mbs with this drive and perform better than one that is only for Sata II.

Common sense tells me that is will/should work better then any drive that is Sata II as the drive is fast. I know it wont Run to its fullest speed but for the money and the Speed it will read and write it should be just fine.

Ebuyer are relatively decent, but if you Google you'll find they're not often the cheapest.

Sata-III devices are backwards compatible to Sata-II controllers.

Please note that SATA II is supposed to be capable of handling 3GBs, SATA III is 6GBs. You won't notice any difference in speed, since the read/write speed of the Kingston SSD is 535 MBs & 460MBs. If you only have SATA II on your machine, it still won't hurt to get the SATA III drive, since it is backward compatable.

When you do get a SATA III machine in the future, you will be able to use its full capabilities.

Just note that there are no drives that even come close to 3GBs - much less 6GBs!

That's really 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s, or 375 and 750 GB/s. (Bits and bytes.)

A 3Gb SATA controller isn't capable of keeping up with a fast SSD. For example:

AnandTech - The OCZ Vertex 3 Review (120GB)

The practical difference isn't large enough to discourage running a 6Gb SATA drive on a 3GB controller, but it's measurable.

So you saying I will indeed get a full speed read and write with the Sata III drive. As most of the Sata II drives dont get to that speed (ave 100mbs).

And If and when I get a Sata III mobo and ext I should be ok.

Thanks

Guys Repping your way.
