ok i have just done a fresh install on a home premium in the advanced firewall i have disabled unicast response, can anyone think of any other action that is required to secure my pc please. its running windows essentials with windows firewall, remote access has been disabled via system allow remote access

Sorry mate but don't quite understand what you mean by unicast and can I assume you are running Microsoft Security Essential or is that Essentials the Windows Live Essentials you are running.

If it is the latter then you need some security on my friend.

its on the advanced firewall section as for security on how should i go about applying that please? by blocking programs windows firewall is on but by default settings only, the unicast is in the advanced firewall setings in windows firewall properties, does this need to be altered?

i dont supose there are any links that could point me in the right direction towards correctly setting it up is there please
