Aer Aspire 5750 Windows 7 64bit running slow

I've noticed over the last few weeks that my laptop is running slower than usual. It's 7 months old. I'm not to sure exactly what is causing this i'm not very computer savey and could use some help please. I've ran anti virus checks and they've come up clear. All help is greatly appreciated. The laptop specifications are

Brand: Acer
Model: Aspire 5750
Itel core i7 2ghz
4gb ram DDR3

Generally windows gets slow with age. Have you installed many program's, are there many icons near the system clock? A lot of program's have services set to run at startup even though its really not need. If there are a lot this can use up ram, slowing the system.

Although with your spec, that would take some doing. Always try and use at least two virus scanners. Download malwarebytes (free) and give a scan with that. If your system uses a traditional hard drive ( not SSD) make sure it has been defragmented.

Depending on how much junkware came pre-installed 6-7 months is about right for slow downs all the junkware is expiring,
If this was a Fresh install disregard the first part and could simply be Driver updates are needed/ most computers do not sell like hotcakes and sit for awhile before selling.
Check the computer manufactures website for driver updates.

Never tell a user to use 2 virus scanners.
1 antivirus and 1 anti spyware-malware. I believe this is what you meant, but I wanted to correct that in case someone else read this thread. Malwarebytes is not an antivirus.
