Aero is no longer available?

I was updating my blog (via Firefox v3.5.9), the screen blinked blank, and my custom color scheme is gone and Aero is no longer available (when I mouse-over objects in the taskbar there is no preview).

I was running: Avast!, Skype, AIM, Word, and Firefox when this happened. I've ran all these programs, and more, simultaneously just fine since W7 came out.

I've restarted the computer with no luck.

Please help!

Try doing a system restore to a few days back, if Aero returns then something you've done recently caused the problem

Also, you should update Firefox to the latest version (3.6.3)

If the system restore doesn't work, you'll need to do a Repair Install I think.

Go into Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System under the "Advanced" tab in "Performance" click settings and make sure "Enable Areo Peek" is ticked.

Often times just running the Window user experiance index will get Aero working again.

It happened again! I was typing out an ad on Craigslist, the screen blinked blank, and Aero was gone!

I don't remember what I did to fix it last time, so I guess I'll have to try all of the suggestions again. :(

About an hour later, the screen blinked blank again and Aero was back.

Weird. I wasn't downloading/installing any system updates at either time.
