Aero Peek and Screensave not workinig.

I upgraded from Vista to Win 7 Pro, everything was working fine until a few days ago. The Aero Peek flashes for a second then goes away. Also the screen saver doesn't kick in or sleep or hibernate. I did a repair install, also uninstalled the video card driver and and put it back on, but still nothing. I did notice when I have the device manager screen open that peek will work with everything that is open. The only thing that was changed to the laptop is that I hooked it up to a TV through the VGA. Also I deleted the old files from Vista that were stored in C:\windows\old. Haven't touched the register.

Also when hoovering over a picture it only flashes the box of its properties.

Are you sure the graphics drivers support Win7?

Actually, i just answered my own question for you:
Drivers & Downloads
in the option to select the OS, there is no drivers for Windows 7. That might be your problem.

ATI Radeon Xpress 1150. On the ATI AMD site it refers you to the manufacturer Dell Drivers & Downloads= So I would download this file to your desktop and unpack if needed. Then I would try and install it in compatibility mode. Click on the setup.exe file>then compatibility>drop down menu choose Vista> check tthe box run in compatibility mode. If the problem presists then you may want to modify the .inf file using this program http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php As you can see your series card is second from the bottom. Follow the instructions, take your time then install the modded driver in compatiblility mode and you should have a working driver. Let us know. Fabe

I will give this a try, but I believe I do have the correct driver for this. Everything else works such as flip, glass, etc., but when I hoover over an open task bar item it will only flash it in aero peek for a second if not less than that. All of these features worked for a month then peek started acting up. When I have certain items open on the task bar sometimes it will work, plus the screen saver won't work,

Open an elevated command prompt (Run as administrator) and type in:

sfc /scannow

Corrupt system files could have caused swapping around features that weren't meant to activate when you do an action. e.g. Hovering over a taskbar item displays aero peek.

Here are the results of the scan. I turned off Aero and used a basic theme and I still have problems when I hoover over an open task bar icon, and still no screensaver.
