hi,

I have changed the Aero Peek speed from 400ms to 40ms, which made it quicker. But I have a problem, although hovering the mouse over active task bar icons to reveal thumbnails is quicker, the window of the program is slow to appear on the screen, if you know what I mean. :)

For example, if I had Firefox running(focused) and notepad open in the taskbar. If I hover over the notepad, a thumbnail will appear. But then about 1 second later the notepad windows will appear on the screen. I want this notepad window to appear quicker. How do I do this?

P.S. I am not talking about the 'show desktop' button on the bottom right of screen!

Thanks,

Blessed.

No I'm not talking about the thumbnails, I'm talking about the whole window that comes above the thumbnail. :)

Test -

open at least four docs/pages.
Hover over the pinned icon.
After the first peek appears,
move your mouse pointer to another doc/page

What is the lag time for the second peek to appear?

Roughly 0.8secs for the whole window to appear after the thumbnail appears. That's very annoying, only 40ms for the thumbnail, then have to wait another 0.8secs for the whole window to come on the screen( without clicking it again to make it appear perminently). I would like it to be at the same time as the thumbnail. :)

Edit: Do you know what I mean by the 'whole window'? I think some people here are confusing that with the thumbnail.

Yes, I understand. But, you did not understand me.

After that 0.8 lag, slide your mouse cursor to the next thumbnail. What is the lag - or is it immediate?

Lol yes I didn't understand you. But I do now and yes it's immediate. But the initial 0.8secs is what I need your kind help in reducing. :D

OK. Now that we have determined that there is no "Problem", I will be right back. Please understand what I mean by "Problem" - I am looking for a tweak, not a solution.

brb.

I have played with this on mine in the past few minutes. My "window" appears faster than the thumbnails do.

Aero Peek is processed by the GPU, not the CPU. This 0.8 second delay may be a limitation of your graphics chip.

Still reading.

I tried reading but now I'm very sleepy! Because it's 00:24am here in london of course! :roflmao::roflmao:

Thanks for trying. Maybe a future Nvidia driver update will help.

Blessed.

I am now convinced that the delay between thumbnail appearance and window appearance is completely dependent on the GPU.
