My mom restarted my computer and the taskbar has turned to classic. An error message popped up, but she closed it and I can't seem to find it.

When I try to change it back to my Aero theme, all the Aero themes are grayed out, and the only themes I can choose are the classic themes.

When I run the troubleshoot, a box pops up that says this theme cannot be applied to the desktop, choose a different theme.

Then the Problems Found list:
The current theme does not support Aero: Not fixed
Desktop window manager is disabled: Detected

Yeah this happened to me too. Try reinstalling the Video Card Driver, that's what solved my problem. As far as i think it has nothing to do with Desktop Window Manager, but if you want, try to look for dwm.exe under processes tab in Task Manager.

How do I go about reinstalling the video card driver? Can you link me to directions? I don't mess with any of that stuff, so I have no idea how to do it.

try this,
type services in the start search box.
select the result with the cog.
in the services window, scroll down to "desktop window manager session manager"
click it to highlight it and on the left click start or restart the service .
see if that helps.
if it already says it is running then click stop then restart it,
also set it to automatic, this can be done by double clicking the DWMSM and selecting automatic from the dropdown box beside the startup type. it may currently say disabled as you previously mentioned.

I did all of this and it still won't let me choose an aero theme, even after restarting the computer.
