Windows 7 was released in 2009. That's 11 years ago.
Since then, I have never
Not ONE ACTUAL TIME
Repaired a corrupted Windows 7 MBR. Literally every time this issue comes around, I end up having to re-deploy an OOBE disk image or just reinstall the whole damn thing. Startup repair doesn't work, /buildbcd doesn't work, /fixboot doesn't work, etc.
Right now I happen to be posting from a dual-booted Linux/Windows 7 machine. I can't boot into Windows 7 because all of a sudden, spontaneously and for no real reason, I am now receiving the BOOTMGR IS MISSING, PRESS CTRL + ALT + DEL error.I could technically reinstall Windows and then manually reinstall GRUB into the boot sector, but **** it. Yeah that's right mom I cussed, 'cause I want to know after all these failed attempts how you actually solve this issue. There has to be a way and I want to know.
