After deleting single file, explorer selection goes to file over next

Windows 7 File explorer deleting manually single files, then next selection goes to the file over one.
For example, when I delete file 3, selection jumps to 5. To preview and delete 4, I must always go up one file.
Rather tedious, since it's a manual deletion workflow of huge archive.
It's html archive paired with folder, so always is deleted also a folder with file.

I don't remember earlier such quirk with html archives.
How to fix?

2. After deletion selected file is not active, to make it active I must press space bar.
Is it possible to change with settings?
