dI'm new to this forum so first at all hello guys and gals :3

So back to topic

I was playing APB: Reloaded(Window Mode) and running with shift, then I've seen something funny and I wanted to make a screenshot of it so I pressed Alt+Shift+Print Screen...

Well I didn't know that I get into the high contrast mode like that so I was firstly confused, so I've changed it back and got out of the high contrast mode, so now the problems started to occur, Aero Mode doesn't work anymore.

My PC specs:
i7 2600k
8GB
GTX 580

that should be enough to handle aero I suppose.

Things I've tried to enable aero:
-Troubleshooting Program from the Control Panel.
-Reinstalled Nvidia Drivers.
-in the system options > visual effect: all options enabled.
-adding 3 registry keys to force enable aero.
-trying to change to a custom theme: the windows have transperency now but I can't change some system32 files (explorerframe.dll, shell32.dll and explorer.exe)
I took the ownership but can't rename those files, it says I haven't got the rights although I'm the only user lulz

So I'd like to request help for:
A. how can I fix that Aero problem?
or
B. how can I fix those rights problem and rename those files so I can add custom files?

I personally don't, but I was asking for clarification purposes.

Going in to high contrast mode should not render your system incapable of Aero.
The extra steps you've taken are unnecessary and may have damaged your OS.

The reason why you can't alter those files is because they're in use for your operating system right now.
Please undo any changes you've committed and then head back in to the Windows personalization settings and fiddle around.

The option is available to you and your operation of APB and pressing the hotkey would not break your Aero.
Try pressing the hotkey again.

taking ownership itself doesn't do harm to my OS,

the extra changes with registry are already removed,
reverting troubleshoot program doens't work at all since it couldn't provide any solution at all
reverting fixit from microsoft doesn't work at all since it also couldn't provide any equitable solution.

reinstalling the driver shouldn't rly do anything bad at all, since I didn't change any graphiccards

trying stuff in the windows personalization settings was the first thing I've done, repeating something a 4th time won't help I guess.

EDIT for SOLUTION
http://djabytown.deviantart.com/art/Dynamic-Black-143467965

I've just applied this theme and I got back my transparency, explorer.exe etc got replaced (backupped the old files)

and yeah it looks great now :D
even the taskbar got it's transparency back

how did I replace those system files?

I've used a linux live cd (fedora 15 to be accurate) :)
