I read several related posting and the problems seems to point to driver out-of-date. I went to Intel's site and ran their app and it said the drivers are current.

System Optimisers:

These programs are known cause of BSOD's. The windows 7 operating system does not require these registry cleaning software. They often tune-down rather than tune-up and can wreck the OS beyond repair. Microsoft have improved Windows 7 significantly and it is much better at organising and optimising itself than its predecessors. Check this, this and this thread for evidence.

If you feel the need to use a registry cleaning or optimisation software, most of us recommend the use of CCleaner but make sure you back up the registry before making letting ccleaner delete anything. You may make use of the great in-built Disk Cleanup and Extended Disk Cleanup if required to do so, regarding de-frag utilities, I recommend yet again the in-built http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11733-disk-defragmenter-open-use.html & Puran Defrag which is much reliable compared to others.

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:

I just wanted to say thank you very much for the excellent advise and for taking the time to look at my issues.
I did what you suggested and the problems are gone away.
Out of desperation, we tend to look online and download and install software to solve the issues, and in many cases make the problems worse. My laptop is old and it now runs great again.

Hello All,
The blue screens are back. I followed the steps to correct the problem and they seemed to work in fixing the issue. But now the blue screens are back. Whenever the computer goes into sleep mode and it comes back with the login screen, and then it gives me the blue screen, shows some errors, and ask for normal boot. Thanks in advance for your help.

Alf, where did you get Win7? Is it possible you have somehow obtained a non-genuine copy?

Do you have a COA sticker as shown below with a Product Key? What all does it say on it without divulging the Product Key?

If not where exactly did you get Win7 and how it is activated? If retail, which version did you buy?

My laptop is an old laptop that came with Windows Vista Home Edition as it says in the back label. And, I had a friend that was kind enough to update the os to Windows 7 64bit claiming it will make the computer more efficient. I don't have the disk for Windows 7 and it perhaps be a non-original version. I'm sorry again if making all of you troubleshoot a problem that might be all caused by the counterfeit copy of the OS.

In that case your options are to buy an Upgrade copy of Win7 to follow these same best practices for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Otherwise you own the version of Vista which came on your laptop for it's life, so you can reinstall it by downloading Vista ISO download to burn to DVD with ImgBurn at 4x speed, or write to flash stick using
UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive.

It will remove the counterfeit Windows installation, as well as the cracked software on your computer Win win!

I'm sorry again if making all of you troubleshoot a problem that might be all caused by the counterfeit copy of the OS.
